"After suffering for years with problem skin as a direct result of toxic ingredients in many mainstream, petroleum-based cosmetics, I turned to Mineral Makeup as a healthier alternative. After experiencing itching, breakouts and colors that looked anything but natural, I decided to formulate my own line of Mineral Cosmetics! I chose not to include those ingredients that clogged pores and irritated skin: preservatives, oils, waxes, clays, talcs, fragrances, food-derivatives (corn starch, rice powder, etc.) and Bismuth Oxychloride. I chose not to add fillers or low-grade ingredients. I chose all-natural, healthy, good-for-skin ingredients that would not only enhance complexions but would promote great skin health!" Foundations: Made with pure minerals from the earth, and featuring natural UVA/UVB Sun Protection, Bellissima foundations buff on gently and smoothly to give your skin great coverage and a natural, healthy look. Specifically formulated to minimize the appearance of large pores and fine lines and wrinkles. Ingredients: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, Silica Micrespheres, Iron Oxides & Ultramarine Blue, Allantoin.
Mineral Veils: Bellissima Mineral Veils provide either a sheer matte or dewy finish to your Mineral Makeup Application and are great for all skin tones. They are specifically formulated to absorb surface skin oils and minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines. Ingredients: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, Boron Nitride, Silica Microspheres, Allantoin (Tinted Mineral Veil also includes Iron Oxide and ultramarine Blue).
Bronzers: Bellissima Bronzers, with natural UVA/UVB skin protection, provide your skin with a year-round, healthy sun-kissed warmth. Ingredients: Mica,Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, Iron Oxide, Allantoin.
Concealers/Correctors: Bellissima Concealers & Correctors provide amazing coverage for skin imperfections. Concealers will minimize the appearance of under-eye circles, blemishes, broken capillaries and other darker skin areas. Correctors will aid in the camouflage of skin flaws, improving sallow skin or redness or serve as highlighters. Ingredients: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, Iron Oxide, Ultramarine Blue, Allantoin.
Blushes: Bellissima Blushes are formulated for most skin types and create a beautiful, 'glow-from-within' look. Ingredients: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, Iron Oxide, Ultramarine Blue.
‘'Warmth’: Bellissima ‘Tan’ minerals are versatile matte shades that can be applied to the face to provide a healthy, radiant complexion, or can be used as eye shadows, eye liners or even lip colors. Ingredients: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, Silica Microspheres, Iron Oxide, Ultramarine Blue.
Calypso Dust: Bellissima offers a selection of shimmer powders to highlight and sparkle. Ingredients: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, Iron Oxides, Allantoin.
Eye Shadows: Bellissima Eye Shadows are available in a variety of gorgeous, natural-looking shades. May be applied wet (foiled) or dry as shadow or liner. Ingredients: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide, Ultramarine Blue.
Lip Butters: Bellissima Lip Butters are available in a variety of flavors and shades. Formulated with only natural ingredients, they're the ultimate in promoting soft, supple, smooth lips. And with a hint of sheer color, they can be worn alone, under or over lipstick. Ingredients: May contain Coconut Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Beeswax, Cocoa Butter, Mango Butter, Shea Butter, Sunflower Seed Oil, Vitamin E, Flavor Oil and/or Essential Oil, Mica.
About Our Mineral Makeup Ingredients...
Bellissima does not use nantechnology or nanoparticles in our formulas. We use minerals that are crushed to between 10 - 14 microns in size and are too large to penetrate the skin.
Titanium Dioxide: Offers waterproof and sun protection properties, while providing a matte look. Helps minerals adhere to the skin.
Zinc Oxide: Known for it’s healing properties for problem skin, it helps minerals adhere through sweating and swimming while providing UVA/UVB sun protection.
Micas: Micas are purified, crushed natural minerals. Mica powders provide a transparent finish and help minerals glide on smoothly and feel silky. They also provide natural preservative qualities.
Silicone Microspheres: This high-quality, micronized mineral helps reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles by reflecting light, adds a smooth, silky feel while offering high oil-absorption properties.
Boron Nitride: A high-end mineral powder, it has a soft, silky feel and offers an amazing finish to mineral cosmetic formulations.
Allantoin: A skin protectant, it helps promote healthy skin by relieving skin irritations, chapped and dry skin, sun burns, fever blisters and more and stimulates new and healthy tissue growth.
Iron Oxides:Are all-natural mineral pigments, giving mineral makeup it’s color.
Ultramarine Blue: Since there is no Blue Iron Oxide, Ultramarine Blue is used in mineral formulations. Even though cosmetic grade, Ultramarine Blue is not safe, by FDA standards, for direct application to lips and fingernails. Bellissima uses a minimal amount, which does not present health issues in per application use.
About Our Founder...
Bellissima Trucco Minerale (translation: 'gorgeous mineral makeup' in Italian) was founded in 2005 by Judy Hogan in Cranston, RI. Judy spent over 20 years in the corporate world working in sales. advertising & marketing and management in a variety of fields including hospitality, travel, software and skin care & cosmetics. Her interest and training in esthetics, cosmetic chemistry, makeup artistry, aromatherapy and related fields formed the foundation of Bellissima, and motivated Bellissima's expansion in 2007 with the addition of Handmade soap, Spa, Bath & Body products to our mineral makeup line. Judy is resposible for the development and formulation of every new item, with her commitment to top-quality products, her environmental considerations and natural sensibilities and dedication to customer satisfaction always leading the way. As Executive Director, she oversees our wholesale and private label divisions, as well as our Affiliate & Direct Sales Programs.
About Our Employees...
Bellissima is a family-owned and operated business with three full time employees and several loyal family members and close friends devoting part-time hours and more, especially during busy seasons. Robert is our Traffic Manager, responsible for shipping out orders and receiving supplies, and especially enjoys his daily (sometimes twice daily!) trips to the post office. He also handles most of our internet activities, serving as Webmaster and managing our online shops. Beth is our Office Assistant, whose duties are really too numerous to mention! Her Customer Service skills serve Bellissima well, and she's a pro at managing inventory and creating our monthly Newsletter, but particularly enjoys assisting Judy in the 'lab'.
